The Garden-facing inner sides of the wall are fronted by columned arcades, a feature typical of Hindu temples later incorporated into Mughal mosques. They provide welcome shade from the blistering heat and blinding light.

This is a fantastic shot! I was at the Taj Mahal in April, but (somehow!) didn’t find these arcades. I love the pink glow here, and the stripes of light.
