This week the dictionary fell on the word Square
See Sue’s A Word in Your Ear to join in the challenge
Looking at Sue’s photos of Seville and the plazas there immediately brought to mind the intricate mosaic patterns of the pavements and SQUARES (or Praco) of Portugal. These pictures are from the historic Belem not far from Lisbon where you can visit the Belem Tower and Jeronimos Monastery.
I love the square mosaics! And I remember them well from my recent trip! Nice, Jude. 🙂
Thanks Cathy, I loved the mosaic paving in Portugal. I will read your latest post on Lisbon when I get back from Wales – just about to leave now!
Oh Jude, I hope you have a wonderful trip! Will be on the lookout for pictures! 🙂
Only a quick trip Cathy, but I have put up a little post (with pictures) on my Travel Words blog.
Nice mosaics indeed. I have never been to Portugal, so i am envious! Have a nice time in Wales. (Not too far to travel at least…)
Building an Ark in Norfolk!! Regards, Pete.
The mosaics are wonderful! More here and here. And Wales was great – didn’t even rain until we got back to Ludlow! It is very slow travel in these parts though, but such wonderful scenery – hills, valleys and mountains – so beautiful I didn’t even mind being stuck behind a ‘trucktor’ or two 😉
Great photos! 🙂 holley4734.wordpress.com
